Dwarf Mage
A fire-themed dwarf mage seemed pretty obvious, and I am nothing if not cliche -- but I at least want to put my own spin on it! So instead of using a straight up fiery set (e.g. the Firelord's Vestments (Recolor)), I came up with what you see here out of a few different sets. In addition to the fire themes, you get a lot of metals and jewels, making it look very royal and opulent. I think this is very appropriate for a race renowned for their earthen riches and treasures. This character would look absolutely perfect riding around on a Core Hound, which by itself really makes me wish I had this guy, since it's such an awesome mount that just doesn't fit any of my characters!

Gnome Rogue
First up, sorry about the delay -- my computer is on the fritz, and that's kept me from updating. I'll probably have to take 1-2 weeks off at some point while it gets repaired, but for now I should be back.
Here's my current attempt at a gnome rogue. I went with a vaguely "secret agent" concept, sleek and elegant and shadowy. I found this surprisingly difficult to do, at least while using relatively new equipment for model quality. Ultimately I'm pretty happy with the result, though I would possibly try to find a new gloves/belt combo. In the event that the belt proves elusive, the Sash of Silent Blades is probably a good substitute.

Worgen Rogue
Let's start figuring out some future character ideas! First up we have a savage and wild worgen rogue. I like this outfit a lot, and while I like the idea of worgen, I've never really been able to get into them in-game. My worgen shadow priest basically exists just for the sake of completion. So I'm unlikely to race change my night elf this way, and will probably go with gnome instead -- as long as I can come up with some good concepts and mogs to match! We'll see how that works out next week...

Human Priest
And here's something quite different and unique -- an Alliance battle cleric! I decided to model my human priest after a Dungeons and Dragons cleric, someone who's in the thick of battle, smiting foes with both mace and magic. When designing non-robe cloth outfits, I find it's most important to start with the feet -- there just aren't that many cloth boots with some bulk to them. Luckily, the Landfall Satin Treads look like actual boots, which led to using most of Velen's Raiment for the other pieces, which works perfectly because it does look somewhat armor-y. The Argent Crusader's Tabard was a no-brainer, fill in the other few item slots, and ta-da, you have an Alliance battle cleric ready to go out and smite the unclean!

Worgen Druid
First, you might notice that all the images look a little different -- that's because I went back and did some re-mastering to make them all (hopefully) look better. So that's a thing! Second, on to this week's transmog outfit.
This week's set was pretty quick and easy, which tends to happen when you build sets around robes. I wanted my worgen druid's vibe to be dark and mysterious, evoking the night and the moon and whatnot. The Season 10/11 Ruthless Gladiator's Refuge set fit the bill perfectly, so I didn't feel the need to mess with it. The only other thing I'll say is that I couldn't find a weapon enchant to match perfectly, but Enchanter's Illusion - Landslide came really close, so I would go with that if you wanted to spice up the weapon.

Night Elf Warrior
For my night elf warrior, I wanted a "defender of the grove" kind of vibe, so I was looking for equipment with greens and browns. There are a few great options, and I used them to assemble the set you see here. This is one of those concepts I'd love to turn into a fully-fledged roleplay character, if I had the time and inclination to do so (I don't, unfortunately). Pretty much any weapon will work, especially if you slap Enchanter's Illusion - Mending on it to make it look extra nature-y.

Dwarf Death Knight
Sorry about the unannounced vacation -- RL got real busy all of a sudden! But I'm back, with some more original mogs this week. For my dwarf Dwath Knight, I wanted something in the vibe of "frost dwarf champion" or even "fallen mountain king." I couldn't make either concept really work 100%, so this is sort of a mixture of the two. I really like the Wrath Scourgelord's Frigid Battleplate set (and Wrath armor in general) for dwarves, which matches the Tier 10 chest/legs pretty well (I like the extra bulkiness of the legs). The tabard I could take or leave, but the weapons are just awesome, and super frost dwarf looking. If this was actually a character of mine I'd probably keep working on this set a little bit more, but for now I'm happy with it.

Gnome Warrior
For my first hypothetical transmog, I present a brave soldier of Gnomeregan! Okay, I was a little lazy with this outfit, but the result is solid nonetheless. If I were to put a little more time into this, I would at least change the belt to something that stands out more (but still matches, of course). But I'm in the middle of moving and summer trips and some other stuff, so you might have to deal with some lazy mogs for a few weeks! I do actually have this character made, sitting at level 1 just waiting to be played -- which will probably never happen, alas.

Draenei Mage
There's not too much to say about this outfit for my draenei mage Archaeas. The Tier 9 mage set looks very draenic and super appropriate for an arcane mage, and it matches the Staff of the Skymagi perfectly. Unfortunately, the matching belt is just awful -- I HATE the giant bulky belt models! There's a few viable alternatives, but I eventually settled on the Cincture of Will. It's not a perfect match, but the gold and purple designs go with the rest of the set perfectly, and I think the white band works, even though it is lighter than the other set colors. Sometimes it's okay for belts to be an accent piece, standing out a little from the rest of the outfit -- within reason! For a more interesting set, check out this draenei warp-engineer.

Human Death Knight
Sorry about the unannounced vacation, nonexistent readership, I've been extremely busy in RL -- still am! But let's see if I can get back to updating this bi-weekly anyway. Without further ado, here's Rivane, my Alliance main before Warlords. I have feelings about this transmog. One the one hand, it really captures the concept of a fallen champion of the Alliance, built around the Thassarian's Battlegear set with its dark blues and faded golds. The tabard is a perfect match, and the belt and boots are pretty close, as well (I really hate the blocky giant boots style). But they're only pretty close and the colors are just off enough to annoy me. It's unnoticeable in-game, but in the model viewer, ugh. I have similar issues with the cape, but there's nothing that really matches the colors the way I'd like. So the whole thing is merely good enough. In an expansion or two, when I can solo heroic MoP raids, I'll probably start working on this radically different dragoon-esque set.

Night Elf Rogue
Therovais is my obligatory night elf demon hunter, and one of the first characters to inspire my transmog obsession. There's not a whole lot to say about this set, other than that I really wish the Warglaives of Azzinoth could be transmogged! I have a version that's slightly fancier, using pieces from the LFR Barbed Assassin Battlegear set, so maybe look there if you want to spice things up.

Draenei Hunter
Didn't get things up in time for this week -- sorry! Better late than never, here's my draenei hunter Orionos. First of all, I'm really proud of the name. Second, I'm also very proud of this mog, which showcases the awesome Shoulders of Lightning Reflexes. Though they aren't part of a set (which is a shame) they match the Stilled Heart Mail set surprisingly well. The result is scaled and crystalline and very draenei looking, but a little muted, befitting a Rangari hunter, especially with the fur cloak. If I had any hope of running Challenge Modes, I would have used the Crystal-Shot Longrifle, but instead I went with the pictured bow that matches the set's colors very well. As a bonus this set works very well with the Tabard of the Hand, though I'm choosing not to use it.

Gnome Warlock
Vonzelli here was probably my first real transmog project back in Mists, requiring some gear hunting and LFR grinding -- as a result he ended up being my best-geared character, even though I wouldn't have called him my main or anything. As a gnomish "mad scientist," the Vicious Fireweave set was a good starting place for this appearance, since it looks very lab coat-esque (the big pointy hat is a plus). The ICC priest lookalike shoulders and belt match well, and add some warlock-appropriate green accents. Then the staff just ties the whole concept together, mixing technology and demonic power (with green fire, of course).

Pandaren Monk (A)
This week is all about Pandaren monks! We'll be sticking with my Alliance Tuesday / Horde Thursday schedule, so today we have Junwei, Tushui master. This is one of those outfit where I really wanted to design around a specific tabard, in this case the Tushui Tabard. The Tyrannical PvP gear does the job nicely, while giving off a badass warrior-monk vibe that I really dig. To make the set look even more monk-y, we've got the matching class-specific belt (obligatory for all my monk mogs) and the Tier 14 LFR hat, which works surprisingly well.

Night Elf Druid
Druids have a lot of canonical types and flavors in Warcraft lore, and I decided to make a Druid of the Claw transmog for Shallador (this is just for transmog purposes, he's actually Balance spec). This is a good example of one of my outfit creation strategies -- take shoulders/belt from a set, find gloves/feet from another complementary set, then chest/legs from another complementary set. That way it's more like matching 3 pieces, as opposed to 6. This mog started with the shoulders, which I thought looked very mighty and bear-like, and everything came together after that. And similar to my warlock, I think being dress-less makes this outfit stand out, while still being decidedly druidic.

Dwarf Warrior
Nothing particularly complicated involved in transmogging my dwarf warrior Kharun. I wanted to build a set around the shield, which just happened to match warrior Tier 10 very well -- with the inscribed runes and earth browns and oranges, the set looks very dwarven. Even better, everything matches the Ironforge Tabard, and I love me some faction tabards. One matching orange/red cloak later, and you have a stalwart defender of Ironforge.

Worgen Priest
I had a hard time deciding on a race for my Alliance priest -- while plenty of races have the "disciple of the Light" thing down, I could see very few as shadow priests, which is what I wanted. Eventually I decided that a worgen would be most appropriate as a shadow priest, playing to the obvious werewolf style and mythology. With this in mind, Walstaf's transmog followed fairly quickly -- the Tier 10 Dark Coven look-alike gear, with a different (not enormous) belt, and a matching weapon. I went ahead and got the matching shoes, as well, even though they don't appear in worgen form. I like that the final result is dark and mysterious, rather than evil and sinister, which I think is appropriate for a worgen shadow priest.

Draenei Shaman
While Tier 6 is perfect for draenei shaman such as Zelaros here, appearing both a little sci-fi and a little elemental, I decided not to use it for a couple of reasons. First, I try to avoid using pure Tier gear when possible, and second, Skyshatter is just so blue -- I like some more chromatic diversity in my outfits. Fortunately, there's the blue-and-gold recolor of Skyshatter, but unfortunately, it's only a partial set. But partial sets are an opportunity for creativity, so after a lot of looking for gloves and belts and mix-and-matching, I assembled the outfit you see here, which I'm very happy with. Eventually I'll look for a matching shield and 1H weapon, but for right now I'm very happy with the staff -- it's crystalline but somewhat primitive looking, which I think is very appropriate for a draenei shaman.

Human Paladin
Brevan is my Alliance main, at least as of Warlords. I imagined him as the iconic Alliance paladin, and with full Tier 13 armor and the Stormwind Tabard, he sure looks the part. The sword and shield were only a little tricky to match (and a little trickier to obtain). Of course, what is a paladin without his trusty mounts, and as an added bonus this mog matches the human Charger and Grand Armored Gryphon perfectly. He's just dripping with Alliance pride and style.
